What is a good alternative to flower arrangements at a wedding?

I am serving a someone organisation her wedding. Our budget is essentially non-exsistent. We had designed to foregather firm flowers for the plateau centerpieces. Now we are having a drought and cod to an happening on the denture to our Island, we hit had to kibosh irrigating! There is rattling lowercase quantity that we module be healthy to encounter flowers. Any fictive suggestions module be appreciated! The ceremony colours and chromatic and teal. No primary thought - meet inexpensive (or liberated would be modify better). Thanks.

we went to the dollar store and got candles.. and glass hurricain lamps… then take a flower or two and sprinkle peadles
Fruit centerpieces, they smell good and are a hell of a lot cheaper than flowers! (ex. whole apples, oranges, kiwi, etc)
I think that candles are the way to go. They are very inexpensive and bring a romantic feel to any wedding. You could just get some candles (omit the vase to cut costs and to bring a little natural elegance). I would put maybe three different sized candles on each table and sprinkle some blue/teal pebble rocks (you can get them at any craft store) on each table as well.
I used balloons. You can buy a little hand pump pretty cheap at a party store. then tie them to a “balloon stick” and put them in a plastic flute glass filled with candy or what ever to hold them up straight. You can fill one balloon with another and that looks pretty cool. Ask at your local party or craft store how to do that since it’s hard to explain.
I decorated the church with greenery, plumosa fern, springherii, variegated ivy, with baby’s breath and rented large fern for side accents. The variegated bows on these arrangements, accented the wedding colors and the wedding party were thecenter of attention. Simple, but elegant
I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and they had nice table centerpieces. They had heart shaped dishes (the bride got them for a dollar a piece at the dollar store) filled with hersheys kisses, hugs, etc. Then, she took some fake wedding rings, (a dollar a bag at the dollar store) and took 2 and tied them together with a piece of pretty white ribbon. She just scatterd them around the heart dishes. It was really really cute. At the main table, they had pretty much the same thing, except the main centerpiece was a picture of the couple in a really nice frame. Good luck!
Try Gold fish in any type of bowl, I’m sure you could even go to a second hand store to find some. Put two in each bowl; a white one and a black one (bride and groom) then tie a ribbon around the top in blue and/or teal. Fish are usually pretty cheap. If you want go one better allow someone from each table to them home and then there is no worries about what to do with them after the wedding. Make it a game.
Have fun.
Pick up some thin twigs and branches, use silver spray paint to paint them, arrange them in a decorative fashion. use a few blue and teal fake or paper flowers, and there you have it
1. Get a mirror. Put a hurricane lamp on the mirror with a cream or white candle (to make it look lighter). On the mirror, sprinkle some sparkles/confetti that match your colors. Decorate the hurricane lamp with some blue ribbon and make a bow or something for it with some silk flowers (arts and crafts store).
2. Get a tall glass vase. Put feathers (the long white ones, or mix-and-match) inside and fill the vase about half way with sparkles/confetti that match your colors. (saw this on TV — actually looked cool)
3. See #1, but use a wider bowl instead of the hurricane lamps, and use floating candles.
Good luck!
Try a “minimalist” arrangement of driftwood or dried twigs (gathered, of course) sprayed with spray-glue and dusted with teal and blue glitter. The twigs can be held up in not-too tall containers filled with dry sand (from the island’s beach). Even tin cans can be cleaned up and spray painted with metallic paint.
Use those little “tea light” candles (really cheap) strategically placed within the arrangement. - punch holes in the tin cans with a hammer and various sized nails and punches, chisels etc. for a folksy lantern effect.
Use a larger piece of driftwood and inexpensive pillar candles for the head table.
Fish Bowl with one colorful beta fish
Candles
Baloons
Pail & Shovel with sand & seashells
Bowl of fruit
Bowl with Hershey’s kisses
Lucky bamboo plant
I like the whole fruit in a glass bowl…it looks very fresh! You could also get sand ($5 at a home store for 50 pounds) and put some fresh branches, etc coming out from a vase….
The best thing I can think of that is inexpensive is hershey kisses
Purchase matting for a picture frame (1 for each table) place in the center w/ some markers/pens & have the guests write their best wishes to the bride & groom on the matting. Then once they have pictures developed from the wedding & honeymoon, they can use them - no money wasted! And matting is extremly cheap. Shouldn’t cost more than $20 for all of the tables.
Here are a few suggestions. They can be used separately or together creatively. Try balloons, ice sculptures or fruit sculptures. Also, you can visit a hobby store and ask them about making ribbon flowers. Hand made ribbon roses can look especially nice when set in a vase of crystal stones or designed into a large centerpiece. A hobby store like “Michaels” can give you more ideas. Good luck with your centerpieces.
candles EVERYWHERE… michaels sells them in bulk for cheaper, and dollar store for candles… if you have some fake flowers at home you could put with the candles?
Have you already ordered the cake?
If not, it is cheaper to make (or buy) small cakes and put one on each table as the center piece than it is to buy an expensive tall fancy cake.
Basically the best way to save money when planning a wedding is to try and use things for duplicate reasons. Then you can cut out something… make sense?
Or make your centerpieces be the same thing that you give out as favors…etc.
Good luck!
Get glass hurricane vases (closed on the bottom) head to the beach then fill them 1/3 of the way up with sand, then place a white or blue or teal tall thick candle in them. Very inexpensive and very classy. Candles are always the way to go.
Get shallow but wide mouth clear dishes. Fill them with water and use floating candles (which I’m sure can be found in blue and teal) and petals (real or fake). The dishes don’t have to be the same, that can add to the uniqueness of every table and ease the burden of finding however many of the same exact dish. I included a picture that is a little more extravagant but can be toned down and still work. Hope it all goes well!
Go to your local dollar store! Little chests or jewelry boxes with necklaces or strings of beads in your wedding colors on pretty tapestry style table mats or scraps of material would be very pretty as well as inexpensive. It can be formal or informal. You could also use china bowls(either have or buy cheap) and fill them with snacks that you had already planned for your wedding. The cupcake racks that are at Walmart are cheap and would be nice also. Good Luck!
Flower Balls. If u have HEB grocery stores they can special order the amount of flower bunches needed at no shipping cost.Flower bunches of 7 open roses are only $1 a bunch & you only need 3 1/2 for each.Foam is $1 at dollar stores. You just stick them all around evenly & it looks pretty big & elegant for only $4.50 a piece. Also next to that I am putting a little frame that you use for the guest names,I made color copies of a picture of us & put it in the frame instead of the name. They come 6 for a $1 at the dollar stores. On each of our parents tables will be a silver frame of an 8 1/2 X 11.So thats only 2 big frames for about $5.00.
